PC Fifa 11 Demo Impressions

It is the time of the year again, the time when gamers who love the beautiful sport of football get to enjoy both the sport itself in a virtual gaming context. Yes, the release of the next Fifa game by EA Sports is just round the corner. Year after year since 2007, EA Sports have effectively tweaked and refined the gameplay and graphics of the Fifa video game franchise, raising the bar each time it releases a new title. However, this wasn’t the case for PC gamers. PC gamers were simply treated to the same old disgusting gameplay and boring graphics repackaged into the new boxes time and again. Next-gen was the cries of the gamers, the PC couldn’t support the engine was the supposed reason by the developers. The PC is less powerful than the consoles? I highly doubt so. I believe it is just a mere excuse for laziness or simply them not wanting to invest in the PC market. This time round, things are about to change. Fifa 11 PC version is about to hop onto the next-gen engine console gamers have enjoyed for the past 2 to 3 years. This is it. Continue reading

iPhone Discover the magic of M.C. Escher Review

Todays iPhone app that I will be reviewing isn’t so much of fun from games but instead it is fun from viewing some of the most amazing works by M.C. Escher. M.C. Escher (Maurits Cornelis Escher in full) was a Dutch graphic artist who is known for his mathematically inspired works, and these often featured impossible constructions such as in infinite staircase and so on. What this app does, is share the joy and magic that this great man produced, and if you’re looking for some mesmerizing pictures to look at, this app certainly does just that. Continue reading

Japanese Precision Performance

To be honest, I had no idea what to put the title of this post as. I mean the video is titled “Japanese Precision” and of course it does have something to do with precision and the Japanese. But what exactly they are doing, ah that is really hard to describe or attribute a term to it. So I finally decided with the word “performance” since it really make me go “wow…” Continue reading

(All experience based on playthrough on PC version) There might be some spoilers in the review so do read with caution. Continue reading

Hell Month

Ironically, the title coincides and relates with the Chinese 7th month, the ghost festival. Anyways today I’m writing not to talk about the ghost festival but more of school work and stuff. This month has been insane; or rather these past two weeks have been hectic and totally seem to destroy me mentally. Of course blame me for doing stuff last minute, but still all the deadlines are placed one after another and presentation slots allocated as well. It is crazy, philosophy presentation yesterday, English presentation today. Blame my luck though since my lucky random pick got me to the last slot of the class for English. Continue reading

PC Academagia Review

Academagia: The Making of Mages is an indie title by Black Chicken Studios. It is a life simulation game where it puts players into a situation of a young growing wizard. It plays as a text-based game with a Harry Potter like theme. In fact, the similarities between the Harry Potter world and that of Academagia are plentiful. Many concepts, ideas etc within the game can be seen in parallel to that of the Harry Potter series. If you are in love with the fantasy wizard and magician world, Academagia might be the perfect match for you. Continue reading
