April Fools 2010

Goodbye March, hello April! Time flies doesn’t it? Within several millions of billions of blinking of the eye, a quarter of the year had gone by. Nothing much interesting or ground breaking to announce but the first quarter was pretty good both for me and the site itself. Anyways, thought that it would be nice to update a little on my life and maybe write out some stuff that I’ve always feel like expressing out.

Yesterday was April Fool’s Day. Wasn’t pranked nor did I prank anyone of any sort but some happenings in school was rather amusing. For example people barricaded the already built bridge putting a sign that it was under construction, friends pranking a teacher with an empty gift box, pranks revolving around the classic pasting stuff behind someone’s back so on and a twin brother switching classes for morning assembly. Pranks didn’t cause too much excitement but it is always great to have these little things to amuse you once in a while.  Beside school pranks, I love the pranks made by companies and more specifically the internet and its users. Here are a few pranks that reputable companies did:

Google Wave – Dr. Wave will stop and wave at you whenever you’ve got a wave, how awesome is that?

Gmail vowel outage

If you logged into Gmail over the last hour (or visited the Gmail homepage), you probably noticed that something looked a bit off: all the vowels are missing. We realize this makes things difficult for all of you who rely on Gmail — whether at home or at work — and we’re incredibly sorry. We take morphological issues like this extremely seriously, so we want to let you all know what happened and what we’re doing about it.

Hilarious!

Starbucks – Starbucks announced today the introduction of two new beverage sizes in stores in the U. S. and Canada this Fall. Just look at the extreme sizes!

There are many more and you can find them with a simple google search. If you want you can take a look at a huge list here:

What have you done on April Fool? Did you prank or were you pranked?

Putting April Fool aside, I’m very happy that I should be receiving my first ever google adsense cheque within this and the next month! First moolah ever gotten from the internet. All that said, have a happy life ahead and have fun for the next 3 quarters of 2010.

p.s Rooney is injured, Rooney is injured la la la.

  1. Swift,

Congrats on your first adsense check. I remember our (me and the wife’s) first adsense check…what a cool feeling. Our first was in 2006. When we went to cash the check, they scrutinised it over and over….even put a hold on the funds…we just laughed. The bank manager swore up and down it was a fake. What idiots! To this day some folks still don’t believe it. hahahahah (all the way to the bank)

Hope 2010 just keeps getting better for you..

    1. Hahaha, I mean that isn’t very surprising I guess. Earning money from the internet ain’t that common in the past and even so isn’t really that much nowadays.

Yeah, thanks for the best wishes! Hope that 2010 for you and your wife will be great as well!
