Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to one and all! Did you enjoy the parties or gatherings you attended? I sure did enjoy mine. Had family members and friends gathering at my house and it was a blast. I love gatherings. I love it when people come together and socialise. Talking, eating and playing games together. I played Fifa 09 on the PS3 together with my cousins and brother. Four players on the same team versus other people via the Quick Rank Match Play option.  Had lots of glorious and tense moments. Fun. Towards the ending of the gathering, the family sat down together watching us play. There were loads of laughter and jeering (friendly ones) whenever we missed clear cut chances and of course there was also cheers whenever we scored. The atmosphere was simply fantastic.

New Star Soccer 4 Review

Ever dreamt of becoming a professional soccer player? Well perhaps you do not have the physique or the proper genes to become one in reality but with New Star Soccer 4 (NSS4), you can be one, digitally. It is just like the current Fifa 09 Be a Pro with a pinch of better simulation and much more depth into it. The major drawback of the game is the graphics. Well, sometimes graphics can be bad but the gameplay is so badass that it doesn’t even matter. That applies NSS4. Graphics are way backwards and is nothing compared to Fifa 09 but the way it focuses on your daily life and how your player develops, fabulous. If you read my Fifa 09 review before, you ought to know how much I whined about the Be a Pro being a Be a Legend. It lets you start of at the youngest age of 18 and only allow you to play up to around 4 or 5 seasons? You stick with the same team forever, no interaction with people etc etc. That’s bullshit. Still, it is a stepping stone and is indeed heading towards the correct direction. Enough about Fifa 09 and let us go onto why NSS4 is indeed a good game.

SackBook - Social networking for Sack Boys/Girls

Hello Sack Boys/Girls! There’s a site available specially for people who live in Little Big Planet! Sackbook is a social networking site for gamers who play LittleBigPlanet. You can find and meet people with same interest as you. Also, it features a section whereby people can recommend levels to play! The site I believe is still heavily developing and therefore many features aren’t available yet. Still it is a cool site for people like you and me who love to have fun in Little Big Planet.

IPod Touch Gaming Gift Guide 2008

Since everyone else is doing up gift guides for this and that, I decided that I ought to do one up as well. For mine, it will be for the IPod Touch or IPhone. I will be listing out games that are worthy of downloading and playing, with a twist. All games listed will have a price tag of $0.00. Hey the economy isn’t doing really well and free games don’t mean they are bad games, they are as great as the ones from 666 casino. Some of them play as well as those games you paid for! Without further ado, here are my 5 recommended games that you can give together with your well wishes for your friends and loved ones!

The Ending of Year 2008

The year of 2008 is about to end in about a month’s time. Throughout this whole year many things have happened. Some of them are positive while others were painful. Nonetheless I believe that 2008 has been fruitful and that I have made good use of the time. My academic route was quite smooth, meeting just a few bumps and troubles along the way. Still, I managed to pull through with a rather average result. What I worry most is that some of the fundamentals of mathematics aren’t grasp to my fullest of ability and that the advanced techniques next year are going to prove a problem. However, I’ll most probably be getting extra help from tuition lessons etc so I doubt that it would be much of a problem.

PS3 Fifa 09 Review

fifa09boxartFifa 09 for the PC was rubbish. However, Fifa 09 for the consoles simply blooms with class and greatness. For once I felt that EA Sports had done a little something more to change the game for the better. The overall gameplay feels so much smoother and fun. Passing never felt this good before. Crossing becomes a greater asset for people who know how to make full use of it. Battles for the ball in air felt much less locked up and jostling is practically important if you want to win the header. In the previous series, Fifa 08 for example, I find myself spamming the button in order to head the ball. I had no idea how the heading system works and concluded that heading is based almost purely on luck. However, Fifa 09 changed my concept and understanding of challenging the ball whenever it is in the air. You first move your player to the correct position (whether is it in front or behind the opposing challenger), keep that position by preventing the opponent from pushing you away, and you hit the button (whether is it a shot or a pass) with the directional key pressed and there you go, you successfully won the challenge.
