B For Bloggeries and I For IPod

Bloggeries – A synonym for “Blog Posts”. Sounds cool? Yeah, maybe. Just learnt about the word at the forums of the site called “Bloggeries”. But that aint the main reason why I am talking about it. The owner at Bloggeries is giving away a free IPod Nano. Sounds cool? Hell yeah! The contest requires bloggers to write a bloggerie (blog post) using the synonym “bloggerie(s)” instead of the words “blog post”. Bloggeries is spelt as B-L-O-G-G-E-R-I-E-S, Bloggeries! Repeat after me: B-L-O-G-G-E-R-I-E-S! Well done.

Oh and I want a IPod Nano because, I just gotten a IPod TOUCH! What a reason. Greed is present in all human beings, can’t blame no one. When we’re born, we want to cry. And we don’t cry just once, but MANY times (because we are greedy. Ok, this is a joke if you didn’t realise.). Alright that isn’t related at all. ANYWAYS, my parents gotten me an IPod Touch. How sweet of them. (P.S And I’m sorry mum for making you cry yesterday. You didn’t have to. I was just, you know, stating my point and what I truely thought about your actions etc. And I guess it wouldn’t be too late to Apologise for We Are Family).

You bet my bear is loving it. “Hey, it is my turn to listen now dammit!”

Dreaded Holidays

The long awaited 1 week break of the third term has finally arrived. I feel kind of weird about the holidays. Not really too happy nor excited about it, but nevertheless not sad about it either (who frowns when it is time for a break? The answer: No one!). Perhaps this weird feeling is due to my rather below average results for the term, or maybe because I realize that the final year examinations are extremely near (just 2 weeks after the break) and that I have lots of catching up to do. Whatever it is, I have decided that I will study during the break. Yes, I’ll study. It takes a lot of determination and self-control to not interact with the computer as well as talk to my bear for quite some time, but I am sure I will be up to it. I have to be anyways seeing as how I practically not understand a lot of topics in the different subjects (for not revising etc) and needing to flip the textbook whenever doing worksheets etc. However putting that aside, I can happily say that the year is about to end and the long 2 months of playing awaits. I just got to persevere till then.

I have not been posting of much due to the endless amount of projects which are finally over. Now that the projects are gone, I will be kept busy again, due to the time spent into studying and revision work. However, I would just like to say that there are not much of happenings lately; no games that are worth to talk about, no interesting events that happened, no nothing. Life is as usual but I just cannot wait to say, “LITTLE BIG PLANET is coming out soon!” (During my examination period of course. What a coincidence.) There are several games that I am eagerly anticipating with high hopes and expectations. Still, due to my examinations I have to wait. The painful waiting is what I usually endure and I really hope that the wait would be worth it (the game as well as my results, that is).

For now, I am going to leave and fully rest my last weekend of escapism before finally going back to the harsh reality of life this coming Monday. I wish students out there a happy studying time and all the best for your EOYs (End-Of-Years. Oh well).

P.S Happy teachers’s day.

I want EXAMS, not PROJECT

I haven’t been posting for quite some time already. I am really apologetic about that. However, it is really because of my current pile of projects and school work that is wearing me down. No, they are seriously genuine and real excuses. For once I felt that my own judgment was terribly wrong. I always thought that this term, would be an awesome and relaxing one for me. Just sit back, little by little doing project work and then handing them up. I WAS WRONG, so wrong! With my poor time management skills, I cramped up over 3 different subject’s projects onto one week. I rushed them all out and was pleased that I had not been penalized for some of the overdue work. PROJECTS are tough. If you have poor time management, projects are neither fun nor easy. At least for examinations, cramping the last week with just pure textbooks and revision, you might get through the tests with ease. For projects, research and all the other time consuming stuff has to be well planned and carried out accordingly else they will not be completed in time.

Term 3 supposedly was my relaxing and fun term in my opinion. However, I was proved wrong and am kind of surprised with the outcome and how current things are going. Nevertheless since this is my first time ever having such a curriculum, I am confident the next time such a term ever comes again, I will be prepared. Cut shot about my ranting and etc about how tiresome and exhausting term 3 is, I’ll touch more about some of the other interesting happenings that had just happened.

Do the Polar and 2.6

Just received a event to “Do the David Gan”. Hmm, I was supposed to take a picture of me having my hand on my shoulder showing off my branded watch. Well, I guess following someone else was kind of like stupid, so I decided to, “Do the Polar … Bear”. Right so heres a picture of my bear, doing the polar bear.

Just upgraded to WordPress 2.6 (huh? So soon? Yes I had the same reaction). Hit the jump for a video done by the official team on the new features etc.

June Reflections + NPCC Monopoly

June 08 has been a month that is extremely packed and fulfilling. As most of you know, June has always been a month that students loved. The month of the semester break which means a wholesome 30 days of rest, fun and whatever. I have always had the same semester break for the all the past years. However, 2008 had been totally different. 2008 semester break has been nothing but chaotic, hectic and tiring. Rest? Nah, spent my days and time running around, flying and crossing islands. You can actually read it here at this article: http://www.swiftworld.net/2008/06/17/back-from-nco-camp-and-taiwan-trip/

With that I’ll just shift the focus to what had recently taken place. An NPCC event, yes again. This time it just happen a few hours ago so I can still remember whatever that have had happen vividly. I just participated in a NPCC Monopoly game competition. Monopoly? The board game? Well you can say so, but instead, it is somewhat a life-sized version of the game. Alright, I know all of you will go rolling your eyes already, me too when I first heard it was the monopoly, I was like hell yeah, slack and fun. However, to my surprise, it was a LIFE-SIZED monopoly. My immediate reaction? For heavens’ sake, no way! Still, I went and must say it was alright, not too boring or retarded as I thought it might be.

SGBlogAwards Great? Maybe

OMY.sg recently hosted the first ever (more hyped up I guess and bigger scaled to be called the first) Singapore Blog Awards. A competition for Singaporean based blogs I guess. There are several categories, 10 to be exact and I participated in one of them; the youth category. Its only criteria was that the blogger must be 16 and below. Bloggers that are not too handsome, not too tall, not too thin are all accepted. Even bloggers that have fetishes over polar bears are welcomed. It states that as long as you are a blogger (Singaporean) 16 or younger, you are eligible.

They contacted those who got through the first selection process by phone. I, being either lucky or a person that is worthy of being selected, had been called up by one of their staff (I think) to inform me about my acceptance into the top, well 10. I guess I felt happy, and excited at the same time upon receiving their call. It was kind of unexpected for them to call. I did not know how the selection process was like, or what or how they chose the top 10 of each category. But nevertheless I am hopeful and anxious to know what the results will be like and for the next few days I’ll be trying to pull votes in.

I hate my icon given to tag on my blog. Just take a look:

Why can’t I have stuff like:

or

Vote me or whatever. My bear wants the phone (Excuses. Heh)

Youth Category Link (I Play fair. You don’t have to vote me. Choose the best for yourself. May the best win I guess. *Shrugs*)

Back from NCO Camp and Taiwan Trip

A New Addition! The White Tiger!June Holidays 2008 was practically more like a 1 week March/September school break for me. Start of the holidays was the all so great weekend at the camp Resilience at Pulau Ubin. Tired and worked out, I came back home on the following Monday with around a week before I board the plane to Taiwan. As you know, holiday homework will definitely be present and as the days flew by, it slowly stacks up, finally piling up to a mountain of stress and work. Of course coming back from the all so great camp at Pulau Ubin would require me to take a few days of break. I rested and played hard, bonding so close with my PS3 and leaving no time at all for my textbooks to swing in. Before the Taiwan trip, I have another 2 days of full day courses. There goes another 2 days of resting. Time passes quickly and it is time for the Taiwan trip. I went for around a week, spending money and time resting (supposedly, well I prefer resting at home but still.) at the hotels there etc. Back the following week later, I had only two days of rest, before my recent NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer. Something like a preparation camp for us students before we take over the unit) camp starts. It was way exhausting and painful physically. The camp was carried out for around 3 days and I recently came back home not too long ago. Now I am left with practically a few more days before school start. Should I rest? Or maybe I should perhaps start working on my homework? Oh well, that sure is stressful and a difficult decision to make. It is like choosing from a million of dollars or a million of cents. Resting is just so tempting. Argh.  Anyways, lets not talk about that, instead lets talk about my camp and trip.
