SGShop Review: First Time Shipping from China by Sea

God created the world, everything else is made in China. Buying things from China is a lot cheaper and recently the quality is decent too especially considering the price. Value for money is what you will get from most of your purchases from China. Most of you should be familiar with the online retailer Amazon. In China, they have TaoBao. Couple that with all the forwarding services available these days buying from Chinese online retailers has never been easier.

I recently bought a large ticket item, a mobile cart for hanging my 40-inch monitor. I used a forwarding and buying service called SGShop and would like to share some thoughts about my experience. In brief for those wondering how it went: Easy to purchase but item came in horrible shape.

Shanghai Tower – Second Tallest Building in the World

China is building their tallest ever building and it will be launched somewhere next year in 2015. The building, named Shanghai Tower, is the world’s second tallest building. What’s the view like from the very top? Wait a minute, it isn’t completed so how can we tell? New Site in Progress

I’ve recently bought a Chinese Android phone with two things in mind. I needed an upgrade from my Galaxy S1 and I wanted to try out a Made in China Android phone. While I am jotting down my thoughts as I used the phone extensively, I fiddled around with the idea of coming out with a dedicated site to these Chinese mobile devices.

China Android Phone

I’ve been eyeing those Made in China Android phones for quite some time already. In the past, most of these Chinese phones are termed as “scam” and pure rubbish “imitations”. Indeed, they were horrible mainly because of the disgusting software that powers the phone. Hardware and software comes hand in hand. And for the phone to clap, it requires both hands. With the introduction of the Android OS, Chinese phones have become much better. It has gotten to the point where it can even compete with the more legit premium brands like Samsung, HTC etc.

Fake DualShock 3 Controller Review (Ebay, AliExpress)

In my search for cheap third party Playstation 3 controllers, I’ve decided to give the infamous Made In China fake DualShock 3 controllers a try. I’ve purchased two “different” fake controllers from an AliExpress supplier. They are differentiated by their packaging colour; one being red and the other being blue. According to the supplier, the controllers are made by different companies and the blue packaging controller is newer and of higher quality. With all that said, how do these fake controllers perform?

Cheap eBay Wireless Antenna Upgrade

Being restricted to solely using wireless for my internet connection, I’ve been spending much time finding ways to improve my wireless connection and speed. I’ve tried many configurations, placing routers here and there and wherever I had cables running to. After a few days of testing, I’ve gotten the most optimum position for the placement of my wireless router and configuration. Not wanting to spend too much money, I decided against upgrading my wireless router but instead searched for other cheaper improvements that I can try out. I’ve then decided to change the wireless antennas of my wireless PCI adapter. Continue reading
