Today my NPCC (A uniform youth organization for secondary schools in Singapore, National Police Cadet Corps) ATC (Adventure Training Camp) just ended. Feeling really exhausted and tired now. The camp seriously was pretty tough even though there were no drills. Though it was tiring, it sure does have its fun moments. Kayaking was fun and so was the rock wall climbing. Other activities taught us important life skills such as map reading and how to use the compass. Anyways, I will list out the activities in the different days and my thoughts and feelings about them.
[singlepic=15,160,120,,right]You can play as spidey’s enemies or spidey himself. However, is this enough to please the fans or gamers? Well for me, Spider-Man Friend or Foe is just not up to the mark. Simplistic storyline plus repetitive gameplay makes the game simply a flock. In addition, the difficulty of the game is just too easy. Features of Co-Op play and versus modes are present but still, these modes and additional features are just passable and can be overlooked without needing to feel any sense of regret. Luckily the sound effects, music etc and voice-acting help to improve the game and thus making me give it a passing mark.

“Word Hugger is a Micro Investment website. A micro investment of $60 will earn lots of money back over the ten years that you own your word page for. We offer a 100% money back guarantee, and provide phenomenal support along the way.” ~ About Us – WordHugger
Can you comprehend that? No? Alright I shall try to paraphrase it for you so as to enable you to be able to further understand what WordHugger is all about. If you know about the milliondollarwiki, WordHugger is something similar to that but instead of buying a page, you buy a word! On buying a word you get something like wordhugger.com/your-word-here and you can edit it to your liking etc. Get it now?
Here is the catch. When you buy a word for 60 bucks, some of it, to be exact 50% of the profit earned, will be given to Kiva. Now, what is Kiva?
“Kiva is a non profit organization which loans money to entrepreneurs in the developing world. Individuals give Kiva a micro loan of $25 per person they are going to sponsor. Kiva then pools a number of these sponsors together, to collect a sum of $800-1200. Once the funds have been reached, Kiva contacts its micro-finance institutions in different developing countries such as Ghana, Ecuador, Cambodia, and so on, who then loan it to an entrepreneur in that location.”
Sweet? Definitely. Not only are you helping yourself in your business or whatever by buying a word, you’re also indirectly contributing funds for a good cause!
So now what’s up with me being all kind and sweet putting up such an advertisement on my site. Well, besides me finding the site and concept behind it rather cool and innovative (Yes I meant what I say. I swear that I speak nothing but the truth), they are currently running a contest to promote themselves. In that case, this post is somewhat like a submission for the contest. Ha, call me money-minded or what-so-ever, I don’t care. All I want is to win a few bucks for me to spend after my examinations. If you are interested, you can participate too! Here are the details:
Just not too long ago in 2006 did EA Sports released an outstanding sports title Fifa 07. Many regarded it as a great improvement from Fifa 06 and that EA finally decided to improve its soccer games. With that said, Fifa 08 was just released a few days back and the claims made simply sounds majestic. Fifa 08 aims to give users better gaming experience as well as trying to fascinate players with its next-generation graphics. However, is that enough to impress the fans and players? Or is it simply a failure? I will give you my comments on the PC version of Fifa Soccer 08 as well as what I think about the console versions (I did not play them, just saw it through trailers etc).I would like to repeat once more that I will be giving you my review based on the PC version and not the next-gen consoles (PS3 and Xbox360). You will know why I strongly emphasize this at the end of the review. If you have been reading my blog, you might notice that I gave my thoughts on the PC Fifa Soccer 08 demo version. And my thoughts were completely negative and not a single praise has been added. Then and there I also stated how much I longed for the be-a-pro mode and I can finally try it out as I finish installing my Fifa 08 game.
EA Sports Rugby is back once more, giving all rugby fans out there a treat. However, I did not play the previous version so in this review I will not comment on how much improvement 08 actually has. Rugby 08 definitely gives players the feel of being at the rugby pitch and playing as one of their favorite team. Rugby 08 is the most popular rugby game currently (There is only one to two more other rugby games if I remembered correctly). Available in both the PC and PS2, it is a must for all rugby fans with consoles or computers to have it.
P.S This review is based on the PC version.
In the past we have things such as podcasts and screencasts. Now we have a new one, a new way of communicating and spreading of your own ideas etc, and that is by sketch casting. Sketch casting is a method whereby users sketch or what we call draw out what they want to tell and in addition, add on a voice over if needed. Kind of cool for artists and drawing enthusiast. However, if you lack the proper equipment and tools (Such as a tablet or some drawing equipment for your computer) the result might become rather terrible. It is rather time consuming actually in my opinion, drawing and then erasing and back again. Here is my first ever sketchcast! Continue reading
